Places I currently have notes
- apple notes, main very fractured and disorganized
- Notability, handwritten, drawings
- Concepts, iPad Pro local and iCloud and iPad mini
- Evernote 3k+ notes
- Ulysses iii
- Old notebooks paper based
- Old printouts from school or mixed papers
- YouTube watch later and playlists
- Maybe my blog articles, old stuff probably of more value to me because of search integration
- old drives from college era
- Bookmarks on safari mobile
- Chrome Toby plugin
- Bookmarks on chrome multiple synced accounts
- Mindmapping tools
Apple Notes
Apple notes ux, ui is very good. I built annotation. Collaboration is easy with other Apple users. Sync is fast and painless across platforms and devices, nearly instant.
Does it make sense to
- Migrate all existing notes, I think so because it is hard to find things. Automation is key because I have 1056 notes.
- Replicate some of the functionality in Obsidian and force myself to take notes there. Maybe.
- Keep using apple notes but set up an automatic sync or movement of notes to Obsidian.
What’s in these systems
- simple bookmark no info
- Bookmark with small annotation
- Web clipping, maybe annotation
- My notes various things, events, etc
- Random todo lists, bullet journals, etc.
- small ideas or musings
- full on bullet journals, usually analog, but also maybe in notability
- Drawings and paintings, analog or digital
Considerations
- can be very messy, maybe better to put in a segmented inbox
- How to process everything initially. Everything private. Is there an LLM tool that can be used for some rough chunking of clusters. maybe cursor ide in a pinch.
