In this interesting video by Matthew Burke, he shows us the reading of the inquiry and starts his novel. Words on a black background, white text, and in the center there’s a letter that’s written. This red is an anchoring letter and you stare there. You try not to pronounce the words in your head. That speeds up faster and faster. It goes to like 300 words in that, like 700, 1,000, 1,200. I figured it was someone who couldn’t follow it. That’s very interesting. I was thinking this: in 300 words a minute, how fast people are talking. I don’t know that speed reading in 300 words a minute is that impressive but double or tripling it? That’s quite interesting.
